Frequently Asked Questions

What is a URL QR code?
A QR code that contains a web address. When scanned, it opens the link in the browser.
Are these QR codes permanent?
Yes. The QR codes generated by our tool are Static QR codes. This means the destination URL is encoded directly into the pattern. As long as your website link remains active, the QR code will never expire and will work forever.
Is there a scan limit for the free QR codes?
No, there are absolutely no scan limits. Since we provide static QR codes, they are not hosted on our servers; they belong to you. You can scan them ten times or ten million times without any restrictions or hidden fees.
Can I change the link after the QR code is printed?
No. Static QR codes have the URL "hard-coded" into the design. If you need to change the destination link after printing, you would need a Dynamic QR code. To update a link with our free tool, you must generate and print a new QR code.
Which file format should I use for printing?
For professional printing (business cards, posters, or billboards), we recommend downloading the SVG or PDF format. These are "vector" files, meaning they won't lose quality or become pixelated no matter how large you scale them. For digital use (websites or emails), PNG is the best choice.
Why is my QR code not scanning?
There are usually three reasons:
Low Contrast: The QR code color is too light compared to the background.
Complexity: If the URL is very long, the dots become too small. Try using a URL shortener.
Logo Size: If your center logo is too large, it may cover too much of the data pattern. We recommend keeping logos under 20% of the total area.

Pro Tip: Before downloading your design, use our built-in "Test Scan" button. This allows you to verify scannability directly on your screen, saving you from potential printing errors.
Does your QR generator track my data?
No. We prioritize user privacy. We do not store the URLs you enter, and we do not track who scans your QR codes. The generation process happens in your browser, ensuring your data stays between you and your audience.
Can I add a logo to my QR code for free?
Yes! Our tool allows you to upload any PNG, JPG, or WebP logo to place in the center of your QR code. This is a free feature designed to help businesses maintain branding without paying for "premium" subscriptions.
